Eldred Avenue in West Covina, California.  In December of 1957, Monte Vista was the eighth school to open its doors in the West Covina Unified School District.  Monte Vista is a TK-6 California Distinguished School and a Title I elementary school with three special education classrooms and Dual Immersion.  The school community is well-diversified, representing a wide variety of ethnic groups, which include about 25% English Learners.

We have an exceptional professional staff that includes highly-qualified teachers, an Instructional Support Specialist, paraprofessionals, support staff, and a principal.  The number of teachers on staff is twenty-five.  Each staff member strives to continuously improve the quality of the educational experience and program for all Monte Vista learners.  We frequently collaborate and share best teaching practices and offer support and encouragement to one another. Excellence is only achieved by teamwork and focus, both qualities of Monte Vista staff.

All of our Monte Vista teachers are fully-qualified and compliant with the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation and Title I, part A requirements.  You may review your child's teacher's credentials by going to the following Teacher Credential website
