Student Recognition

 

Monthly NEU Rally’s

On the last Friday of the month we come together as a school to promote College/University awareness. We celebrate each classroom’s university through chants and college gear. We acknowledge the monthly valedictorians, character of the month, and reader of the month.

Valedictorian

Each grade level selects a high achieving student as the Valedictorian for the month. Students are presented to the school during our NEU rallys. The principal reads the excerpt submitted by the students’ grade level teachers as they come to receive their diploma, a graduate cord, and a school spirit backpack. Their pictures are taken and posted in the library.

Character Recognition

Through character education we promote anti-bullying and a positive/safe learning environment. Student council discusses and promotes the character trait of the month with students.

3R Parties

Being Respectul, Responsible, and Ready to Learn are the 3R qualities at Monte Vista. Students who demonstrate these qualities are celebrated each month.

Trimester Awards

Students are selected to be recognized for academic and self-growth awards at the end of each trimester (three total).
