Completion of the form does not guarantee that a space is currently available for your child. Within 5 business days of receiving your application, the site director will notify you of a potential start date for your child or whether your child will be placed on a waitlist.
We know that it takes the effort of the entire community to provide the wide range of educational resources and opportunities that students need to succeed. Therefore, WCUSD is proud to continue our partnership with the YMCA to provide free after-school and summer care through our Y-ASES programs that give TK-8th grade students new and expanded learning opportunities outside the school day.
About the Y-ASES Program
The YMCA provides a high-quality program designed to support and enhance your child's learning in school while also providing new and expanded learning opportunities that not only contribute to their academic success, but also to their overall health and well-being. All Y-ASES staff work closely with your child's teacher to assure homework is getting completed and the child is progressing at school. In addition, the program includes a health and fitness component focusing on cooperative group games and cardiovascular health as well as nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
The program begins on the first day of school and operates every regular school day from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Children are expected to attend 5 days a week until 5:50 p.m. However, arrangements can be made if students are enrolled in parallel programs.
There are no costs associated with participating in Y-ASES.

Enrollment will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and by the following priorities which are required by state funding that is used by the district to ensure the program remains free to all families: 1) returning participants and siblings, 2) TK-6th grade students, and 3) students identified by the district as English language learners, foster youth, students experiencing homelessness and/or students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program.
